The ideal candidate has delivery and service equipment experience, preferably an HVAC certification, be able to pass a background, drug screen and motor vehicle check. Understanding ins-an-outs of rental equipment is a PLUS.

This position is responsible for service, installation, and delivery/pick-up of rental equipment. This includes interfacing with customers, providing support to customers that have our equipment on their sites, and working with other Service Technicians.

Technician Duties:

  • Take customer order from Inside Customer Account Rep or branch manager.
  • Fill order and deliver to customer. If any accessories are left at job site that are not on the delivery ticket, note it on the delivery ticket and have customer sign ticket.
  • If required, install equipment. Service Technicians are not to hook up power cord of rental unit into any customer distribution power panel or generator. They can run extension cords and plug in 115 V equipment into wall receptacle.
  • For heating equipment, run temporary hoses from equipment to hook-up to natural gas or propane sources. Do not do hook-up, that is the responsibility of the customer.
  • Run flexible ductwork as required for temporary application.
  • Use appropriate PPE and fall protection as required.
  • Do not use customers’ lifts to perform any work unless driven by an authorized person at the job site. Fall protection as required.
  • Do equipment start-up. If access to equipment power control panel is required and electricity must be on while inside control cabinet, wear appropriate arc flash PPE as per our Electrical Safety Policy.
  • Do service repairs as required. Again, all appropriate PPE must be worn.
  • When customer is done with equipment, pick-up equipment from customer location, noting what equipment was returned. If there are any missing items, communicate it to customer and have him/her sign pick-up ticket with notation of what is missing.
  • Do equipment reconditioning as per reconditioning work instructions for that type of equipment. Complete any checklist as required.
  • Put equipment away in Branch warehouse.


Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years similar experience preferred.
  • Must have a high school degree, a 2-year HVAC certificate is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test to be able to drive our vehicles.
  • Must also have a clean motor vehicle record.
