Job description
The Gándara Center provides residential, mental health, substance abuse, and preventive services for children, adults, and families across the Pioneer Valley and eastern parts of Massachusetts. Duties and Responsibilities
To work as a cooperative team member, provide leadership to fellow direct care staff persons working shift, and to be a positive role model for clients.
- To assist clients in carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities including cleaning, cooking, maintenance, and laundry. To willingly perform these tasks when clients in a fair and consistent manner.
- Complete DYS medication training.
- To assume other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Program Director or Assistant Director.
- Knowledge of Agency policies, practices, and procedures and to meet all rules and regulations of the Agency.
- Attends required mandatory Staff meetings.
- Participate in DYS Basic Trainings in Grafton MA.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Must have a valid Massachusetts. license
- Must have a reliable vehicle available to transport clients or provide other supportive services as necessary.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), Bicultural, encouraged to apply.
- Must meet Agency requirements for driving history records.
- Must have the availability of an automobile to transport clients or perform other supportive services as necessary.
Experience
- Previous work in the related fields dealing with youths is preferred.
- High School Degree or General Education Diploma Required
