Residential Program Director

The Gándara Center provides residential, mental health, substance abuse, and preventive services for children, adults, and families across the Pioneer Valley and eastern parts of Massachusetts. The Residential Program Director will be responsible for leading a team of residential professional staff to administer top client care to youth with acute level behavioral conditions. The Residential Program director is responsible for the programmatic oversight and quality of care within a short term residential program. The Residential Program Director ensures the provision of all service components including: the management, recruitment and supervision of team, budget and program utilization management, and oversight of milieu. Acute residential services are available to individuals up to and including 18 years of age. The program offers short-term, 24/7, staff-secure, safe, and structured crisis treatment services in a community-based program that serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.

Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
• Minimum BA in human Service field
• Detailed knowledge residential programming, policies and procedures.
• 5 plus years of supervisory experience.
• Good understanding of budgeting and resources planning
• Knowledge of electronic health records and third party reimbursable services a plus.

Program Director Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Services and one (1) year of Management/ Supervisory experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must meet Agency requirements for driving history records; Pass Criminal and DCF Background Record Check
• Ability to work effectively with other community Agencies (i.e., School Dept., DCF, DYS, Juvenile Court, EEC, etc.)
• Excellent communication, record-keeping and organizational skills required.
