Job Description
We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the operations of the Engineering Department ensuring that all systems are operating to standard, all property assets are constantly maintained to the highest level and all legally mandated Life Safety operating systems/criteria are adhered to by all. Additional responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling of employees; planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all engineering activities to ensure efficient operation of department and preparation of all required reports.
Required Skills & Experience
- Supervises all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure highest quality workmanship and production
- Establishes schedules for, and oversees performance of all preventive maintenance activities
- Oversees/assists in the establishment and implementation of Life Safety and other emergency related procedures/training for all personnel
- Ensures maintenance of records of all maintenance/repairs performed as required by corporate policy and/or legal mandate
- Coordinates inspection and certification of all Life Safety systems and equipment as required by local ordinance
- Performs periodic, walk through/visual inspections of all property assets to determine condition, establish maintenance priorities and highlight areas where need for improvement exists
- Oversees/develops Engineering Department(s) operating budget(s) according to guidelines established by corporate policy
- Establishes/compiles lists of future projects and priorities, for submission to Managing Director, General Managers and Corporate Office for review and approval
- Coordinates preparation of annual ADA compliance checklist
- Serves as active member of Senior Leadership Committee, and attends all meetings
- Oversees activities of all outside contractors performing maintenance/repair/renovation operations to facility/fixed assets
- Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental personnel according to Loews standards
- Able to make decisions on imperfect information. Agile with multi-tasking, bias toward action, decisive action

- College degree preferred

- Experience:
- 4-5 years experience as Director of Engineering and Maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing
