Rest Area Supervisor-Prairie View Rest Area (I-57/Monee, IL)
Job description
- Perform and supervise others in the maintenance of the rest area building and grounds including:
- Main building rest rooms – fixtures, mirrors, toilets, soap and tissue dispensers, hardware, hand driers, floors and walls.
- Main building lobby – floors, walls, windows, partitions, light fixtures, air intake grills, telephones, furniture, display cabinets, carpets, pest control, glass doors, basement and immediate outside of building.
- Grounds – garbage receptacles, ground litter, picnic tables, sidewalks (litter, snow/ice removal), parking lots, trash removal and landscape work as required.
- Maintain inventory of building and equipment maintenance supplies and request purchases of needed supplies as necessary.
- Drive Sertoma vehicles with care and caution. Sertoma vehicles are used to transport staff and equipment to job sites. It is extremely important that crew members and equipment be transported as safely as possible. There is NO SMOKING in Sertoma vehicles and seat belts are to be worn while driving.
- Provide input to Janitorial Services Assistant in the recruitment, orientation, training and termination of employees.
- Prepare incident reports to document vandalism, equipment break downs, injuries, accidents, etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance of equipment, inspections, and follow-up.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- One (1) year related experience or training required with some supervision experience preferred.
- Possess basic language, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurance documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
