Phil's BBQ is celebrating its 24th year in Southern California, and is now hiring a full-time Restaurant Maintenance Specialist in our busy Point Loma location in California. Maintenance personnel inspect equipment and perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance as required such as painting, basic plumbing, occasional basic electrical repairs, flooring and concrete upkeep, some filtration system maintenance, and repairs and maintenance of various furniture, fixtures and restaurant equipment. To succeed in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read instructions, plans, technical information and repair guides.

Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance.
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
• Overseeing outside contractors when complex or third-party vendor repairs are necessary.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
• Repairing machines, equipment, furnishings, or structures as necessary.

Maintenance Worker Requirements & Minimum Qualifications:

Prior experience performing routine maintenance.

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

· Certificate or degree from a technical / vocational program a plus, but not required.

· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

· Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

· Ability to read and understand technical information, instructions, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

· Ability to use common hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, screwdrivers, and wrenches.

· Ability to use precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

· Assist with receiving regular deliveries of inventory and stock for restaurant operations.

· Ability to use proper chemicals and detergents for cleaning and maintenance.

· Strong organizational and follow up skills.

· Eye for extreme detail.

· Professional presentation and attitude.

· Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

· Strong time management skills.

· 6-12 months of experience in general maintenance.

· We E-Verify: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

· Valid Driver License Minimum 4 years - some driving required - must be insurable.

· Able to communicate effectively with managers, kitchen personnel, corporate management and ownership.

· Able to reach, bend, push, pull, grip, stoop and frequently lift objects 10-40 pounds.

· Able to work in a walking or standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

· Able to regularly climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops as necessary.

· Ability to work in an environment with strong odor, fumes, chemicals, heat, refrigeration, smoke particulate and indoors/outdoors as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
