The nationally renowned Minnesota Veterans Home – Minneapolis has an opening for an Assistant Director of Nursing. This position provides direct supervision and direction to the nursing staff of the assigned area and ensures the goals of the nursing department are being carried out as planned. Additionally, this position provides back-up in the absence of the other facility clinical directors and works as Director of Nursing when needed.

Salary Range/Benefits: $40.03 - $59.30/hourly; $83,582 - $123,818/annually
Work Hours/Schedule: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm/ Monday - Friday

The minimum qualifications include:
Two years of management level experience in a large (100+ bed) licensed skilled nursing facility, hospital, or other comparable health care facility, providing nursing direction of professional staff
OR
Three years of supervisor level experience in a licensed skilled care nursing facility, hospital, or other comparable health care facility providing nursing direction for 3 or more professional staff, or having primary program responsibility of a large specialized nursing program or function such as Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Dementia, Sub -acute Care, Dual Diagnosis Program, etc.
In addition to the above experience qualified applicants must have:
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license with no restrictions
- Ability to evaluate the work of staff to assure work quality and continually improve work processes with awareness of effects on customers
- Strong communicator with exceptional human relations skills
- Sensitive to and respectful of cultural and other differences when carrying out job responsibilities and in interacting with others
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Knowledge of MDH regulatory standards
