Job description
The Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (WOCN) assumes professional nursing responsibility and accountability within a designated time frame for the care and treatment of assigned patients. He/she delivers nursing care with acute, chronic wounds, ostomy patients, and patients with continence issues. He/she provides nursing care based on specific patient issues and assists in coordination of care and discharge planning for the Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) patient. Interacts with other health care team members and/or disciplines in accordance with standard nursing practice and WOCN practice and HCMC, HCNH, and HCHHA policies. The ages of patients served are neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Licensed Practical Nurse license to practice in the State of Tennessee. Licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc... As they may apply.
EXPERIENCE:
Be able to write, read and speak the English Language. Minimum of 20 years of age and of good moral character. Be able to work with other department personnel.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:
Current LPN License in Tennessee, Kentucky, or as appropriate through the Compact State Licensure criteria/qualifications.
