General Description

OEM Fabricators, Inc. an ISO certified company and manufacturer of the year award winner, is a full service custom job shop and are looking for a robotic welder for our OEM team. We have positions on 3rd shift at our Woodville facility, 3rd shift is Friday – Sunday, 6:00 a.m – 6:00 p.m. OEM offers an excellent benefits package.

Position Summary

Set up and operate the Robotic welding machine to finish weld assemblies to meet or exceed customer requirements in a timely manner. To abide by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and follow all Company and Department safety policies and/or procedures.

Requirements

The following listed articles are required deemed necessary by the hiring authority) for the initial acceptance of a welder. A High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Minimum of one (1) year related schooling or one (1) year welding experience or any combination of schooling and/or experience that equals twelve (12) months. Pass OEM’s physical weld test, written welder exam which includes blueprint reading, tape measure reading and various welding questions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1.1 Set up weld machine with proper gas and wire.
1.2 Organize weld components in assigned work station using forklift, hoist, or manual lifting.
1.3 Load and Unload robot
1.4 Operate a computer controlled robotic welding cell
1.5 Programs and sets up robot for various welding applications
1.6 Prepare all material surfaces to be welded ensuring there are no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease or other foreign matter.
1.7 Makes adjustments to the machine as needed
1.8 Offer suggesions for fixturing
1.9 Check welding components for visible defects.
1.10 Check joint fit-up for misalignment prior to welding.
1.11 Read and interpret blueprints as required to complete necessary welds.
1.12 Weld components using proper welding techniques controlling distortion, shrinkage, and weld size to finish weld assemblies to meet or exceed customer requirements.
1.13 Remove all slag and heavy spatter from completed welds.
1.14 Check completed welds for visible defects.
1.15 Correct defects immediately.
1.16 Use time and material effectively to meet or exceed Company’s requirements.
1.17 Advise Supervisor of problem areas.
1.18 Perform an acceptable amount of work with few or no errors.

2. Internal and/or External Relationships
2.1 Work with and takes work direction from Lead Welders and Supervisor.
2.2 Work in conjunction with Welder Trainees, Certified Welders, Fitter Welders, and Lead Welders to weld assemblies per customer print and specifications.

3. Perform Routine Maintenance Of All Equipment Utilized
3.1 Maintain all equipment in good working order during daily operations.
3.2 Adhere to established preventive maintenance plan.
3.3 Make recommendations for equipment maintenance to Supervisor.

4. Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Area
4.1 Work area and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
4.2 Keep walkways and exit doors are clear of equipment, material, tools, etc.
4.3 Be sure all required guards and safety equipment are properly used.
4.4 Sweep work area out to isle at end of shift.

5. Contribute to a Favorable Work Environment
5.1 Establish and maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees.
5.2 Willing to work as a team member.
5.3 Convey a positive attitude toward coworkers.
5.4 Maintain a professional attitude and appearance when interacting with outside customers, service personnel and vendors.
5.5 Reflect a positive “can do” attitude toward people, company policies and procedures.
5.6 Support management decisions, or disagree in a positive, constructive manner.

6. Perform Assigned Duties and Responsibilities Efficiently
6.1 Willingness to perform other tasks not related to your present Position Description.
6.2 Correctly maintain an accurate daily time card to ensure accurate accounting records relevant to specific jobs.
6.3 Maintain attendance per company guidelines.
6.4 Continually challenge and improve setup and run times

7. Problem Solving
7.1 Solve problems with assistance of Lead Welders and/or Supervisor.
