Job description

Responsible for operating one or more saws to cut stone block or slabs and applying finishing techniques to natural stone according to work order specifications. Properly maintains equipment, thoroughly completes production and maintenance records, and maintains a clean and safe working environment. Willing and able to assist team in other production tasks as needed such as mechanically splitting or sawing stone, packaging finished product on pallets, loading and unloading trucks, producing samples, maintaining equipment, cleaning/organizing the work areas, and more. Saw Operator must be proficient in reading shop drawings, taking measurements, performing basic mathematical equations, and have an eye for detail to learn and recognize various stone types and colors. Previous forklift and saw experience, or similar, required. Saw Operator must meet physical requirements, follow safety precautions, and use many tools. Must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently, work independently or as a team, and be hardworking and dependable.

Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Develop and maintain a general knowledge and understanding of Kafka Granite’s procedures, quality standards, and safety precautions.

· Set up saws, safely load and position natural stone, operate saws, produce stone to specifications, and off load product.

· Apply finishing techniques with attention to detail.

· Assist in maintaining equipment and a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

· Assist the team in other production areas as needed.
