The Seabrook is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life and health of its residents and offering programs that benefit the seniors on Hilton Head Island.
We are looking for a dedicated nurse practitioner who possess the skills and training to understand unit clerical duties and who can provide valuable support of the Nursing Department.
As a Ward nurse, you would assist charge nurses in ensuring medical records are complete; inputting of resident data in clinical software complies with federal and state regulations, as well as established policies and procedures to ensure highest quality of resident care is always maintained.
A Ward Nurse at The Seabrook:
· Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals and completes appropriate documentation.
· Prepares records for the following day’s activities ensuring they are stored/kept in a secure location until needed per HIPPA requirements.
· Monitors patient ID
· Answer telephone, taking messages, and informing department staff of requests.
· Directs patients, physicians and visitors to appropriate rooms, activities, and other areas, as needed.
· Creates and maintains patient charts.
· Processes requests for lab work/diagnostic testing to appropriate department
· Reviews patient charts upon discharge for completion and submits to Records.
· Notifies Admitting Office of changes in census.
· Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
· Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status.
· Schedules staff
· Manages day to day staffing needs
· Trains in MDS to back up the MDS coordinator,
· Onboards new hires, scanning of documentation into system.
· Reports all resident changes and interventions in the appropriate logs.
Education and/or Experience
· Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Three (3) to Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in rehabilitative and/or gerontological nursing is preferred.
· Knowledge of drug interactions, side effects and incompatibilities, decision making skills, proficient assessment skills.
· Knowledge of DHEC regulations related to a skilled nursing facility.
· Knowledge of Medicare regulations for admission to a skilled nursing facility.
