Patients have access to an extensive team of cancer care professionals, including more than 45 board-certified and board-eligible surgical, medical and radiation oncologists and over 500 support colleagues. Services include prevention, detection, diagnosis, genetics, patient navigation, nutrition, social and psychological support, financial coordination, rehabilitation, clinical trials, multidisciplinary and coordinated care, surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hemophilia care, survivorship, palliative care and hospice support. Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute offers a range of cancer services at 6 convenient, patient-focused hospital locations, including the John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Cedar Crest, the Cancer Center at LVH– Muhlenberg, the Cancer Center at LVH-Hazleton, the Cancer Center at LVH-Schuylkill, the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center at LVH–Pocono and the Cancer Center at LVH-Hecktown Oaks. Patient care is also provided through Lehigh Valley Physician Group practice offices in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Pocono, Hazleton, Pottsville, Lehighton and Scranton. We have more than 15 Breast Health Services locations throughout the region and also offer community screening services through our mobile mammography coach. In calendar year 2021, the cancer program cared for more than 5,000 cancer patients in our community. Job Summary:
Coordinates all patient scheduling activities including appointments, procedures, and exams for multiple hospital, physician practice, outpatient departments, modalities, and facilities. Facilitates communication between staff, referral sources and physician offices regarding concerns/issues related to scheduling.
Education - Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
Experience - Required:
- 6 months medical office, call center or customer service oriented work experience or
- in lieu of work experience, the completion of an Associate's Degree program or higher will be accepted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:
- Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to enter information accurately into electronic systems.
- Demonstrates ability to handle stressful situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Preferred:
- Familiarization with EMR and scheduling systems such as EPIC, PHS etc.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
