WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Jump into emergency veterinary medicine on the front lines alongside our fantastic veterinarians. Veterinary scribes play a critical role in the medical process by building the perfect medical record for each and every patient. In addition to completing floor shifts, lead scribes spend about 8 hours of their week dedicated to training, communicating with other VEGgies and scheduling the scribes on their team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Scribe (approximately 32 hours/week):

• Create perfect VEG medical records
• Document patient encounters including: history, physical exam, vitals, differential diagnoses, progress notes, estimates & more
• Work in a fast paced environment
• Assist doctors with any non-clinical duties
• Ability to communicate effectively with every member of the medical team
• Maintain professionalism and an exemplary work ethic
• Ability to occasionally work overnights, weekends, and holidays

Leadership/ Management (approximately 8 hours/week):

• Train members of the scribe team in classroom and floor training
• Make and manage the scribe schedule
• Review and manage time cards
• Maintain monthly quality control measures
• Provide continuing education and training to all scribes as needed
• Plan and host meetings with other members of the VEG Scribe team and VEG hospital team
• Occasional travel to other VEGs for learning purposes

WHO WE NEED:

• The ideal candidate for this position has scribe experience
• Management/ Leadership experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA)
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to multitask
• Self -starter with leadership experience
• Team player
• Detail oriented
• A love for people and a desire to help them succeed
• A positive attitude and understanding that oftentimes, the little things can be unnoticed but it doesn't mean they're not integral to the organization's success
• Loves animals and caring for them
