DISTRIBUTION CENTER: PICKING & PACKING ASSOCIATE 1st Shift - SEASONAL

School Health Corporation is the leading provider of medical supplies to schools, universities, and sports teams nationwide. Our family-owned business has a need to bring on seasonal employees during the summer months for warehouse workers, in our new facility.

We are hiring Seasonal Picking & Packing Associates. This position is responsible for picking/packing customer orders in a Distribution Center. We anticipate this position will last through mid-September, with permanent hire opportunity. Current shift hours are 7am - 3pm. Overtime including Saturdays may be required. Hours will change to summer hours of 5am - 1:30pm for June through September.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage pick tickets by date sequence
• Operate handheld scanner to pick order to tote or full case
• Ensure orders are picked accurately
• Verify correct items are pulled for orders based on description and quantity
• Place completed orders on conveyor for delivery to packing stations
• Fill individual packing stations with order totes
• Verify all contents were picked in correct quantities prior to packing
• Select right size shipping carton for individual orders
• Use void fill to block and brace items
• Print and attaching packing slips
• Replenish packing station with supplies
• Meet daily picking productivity goals
• Clean up work areas at end of shift
• Assist other departments/functions as needed

Basic Requirements:

• Ability to work Monday-Friday (or Saturday) some weekends will be required based on business needs; flexible schedules are available
• Basic math skills
• Self-motivated
• Team player

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use a pallet jack
• Ability to stay on feet and walk for long periods of time

Work Environment

• Work in a warehouse environment throughout seasonal temperature variations
• Use of proper safety procedures to ensure workplace safety
