Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Solutions Innovation Group (SIG). SIG was founded on the premise that entrepreneurially-minded business and engineering teams can deliver high-quality, innovation solutions by working closely with the defense and intelligence personnel but doing so outside of the traditional government process. This novel approach allows us to deliver high-impact prototypes and field-ready solutions to the warfighter faster and more affordably.

The candidate can work remotely with occasional travel onsite to Hanscom AFB. The candidate MUST be located in the Greater Boston Area.


Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Performing frequent data transfers from external media onto the network
  • Update virus definitions weekly on data transfer systems
  • Security lockdown protocol experience using SCAP/ACAS/Nessus
  • Update standalone systems operating system and software
  • Responding to day-to-day trouble tickets, including diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and account issues
  • Installing, configuring, updating and removing system hardware (servers, workstations, graphics cards, transceivers, network interface cards)
  • Linux derivative operating systems familiarity
  • Installing, configuring, and updating system and application software
  • Building, configuring, and deploying Linux and Windows systems, including multimonitor installations
  • Creating and managing user/group accounts in Active Directory Domains
  • Implementing up-to-date system policies and procedures
  • Virtualization and cloud experience (HyperV, Azure, AWS, ESX etc )
  • Network and virtual networking experience Cisco, Juniper etc.
  • Imaging and back up systems such as VEEAM

Qualifications:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance : Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance
Education:Bachelor's Degree in related field
Years’ experience: 4+ years of diverse systems and networking experience with IA

Preferred Qualifications:
Years’ experience: 7+ years of diverse systems and networking experience with IA
  • Experience with Cross Domain solutions is a plus
  • SCCM to perform automatic software installation on Windows systems
  • DNS, FTP server, LDAP integration, PKI smart card integration

Interpersonal Skills:
Candidates should bring a level of enthusiasm and energy to their work and be comfortable interacting and communicating with individuals at all levels from subordinates, peers, team, program and executive-level leadership. Candidates should be comfortable reaching up into new, unchartered areas as well as reaching down to lend a hand as needed.

Additional Information:
Location: Greater Boston Area/Hanscom AFB
Travel: Travel or Non-Remote time is not expected to exceed 20%
Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Candidates will work a mostlyremote, but must be able to support onsite visits to Hanscom AFB.
