Job Description:

With its recently deployed Build to Last strategy now in place, Greif’s Corporate Controller department is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to help execute on its enterprise vision of being the best performing customer service company in the world.
The role includes a variety of accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant reporting regulations, laws, and requirements. The role will also help prepare regulatory reports and filings while providing technical accounting advice to business partners.
Core Responsibilities
- Assisting preparation of complex or technical accounting projects like acquisitions, divestitures, capital restructuring;
- Preparation of internal and external reports and filings, inclusive of SEC Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K;
- International and domestic coordination with business partners around the globe on issues resolution and project management;
- Assisting in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation and close activities;
- Partner with internal and external audit to assure success of the SOX program;
- Assisting in researching and implementing new US GAAP accounting standards and coordination of internal policy documents;
- Assisting business partners in Operations, Human Resources, and Finance with forecast and budget, where needed;
- Providing US GAAP guidance, as well as internal policy guidance and accounting elections, to business partners; and
- Lead with a solution-based mindset and facilitate a finance of the future mindset to focus on continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
- Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2+ years of experience in financial reporting or public accounting; and
- CPA license preferred, or in the process of obtaining.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good knowledge and experience with U.S. GAAP and financial statement analysis;
- Excellent technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills required, with a high level of written communications proficiency;
- Ability to manage shifting projects, priorities, and deadlines; and
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
