Job Description:
The role of Senior Procurement Buyer negotiates and executes sourcing activities and contracts across JM Family Enterprises, leveraging procurement strategies to drive cost savings and satisfy internal customer requirements. An ideal Buyer will assist internal customers in drafting scopes of services and requirements as needed. To support and manage the procurement lifecycle, the Buyer will conduct research of potential suppliers, develop RFx events, develop and manage contracts, conduct price and terms negotiation, facilitating protection of the enterprise from risk while maximizing value.

Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing relationships to support and expand current procurement pipeline. Additional Responsibilities for a Buyer include but are not limited to:
  • Develop an expertise in a managed category by analyzing current market trends.
  • Identify suppliers to meet business requirements.
  • Design, manage and control competitive bid process through RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and Reverse Auctions (RFx events) as well as leading client teams in the sourcing and selection process.
  • Review and conduct Supplier Performance Management as requested by the Business.
  • Provide first level contract review for consistency with scope/requirements, RFP documentation, pricing agreements and corporate standards.
  • Negotiate and execute of agreements including contracting with Suppliers on pricing and terms and conditions. Liaison between Legal, Corporate Insurance Services and various departments/business units.
  • Drive internal compliance with Procurement policies, procedures, strategies, and guidelines on an ongoing basis.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of purchasing experience in a corporate environment, with emphasis on Indirect Procurement
  • Knowledge of purchase order process.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently in a semi fast paced environment.
  • Proven negotiating skills with a strong understanding of price/cost analysis.
  • Excellent PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience creating and negotiating Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and other purchasing agreements.
  • Highly collaborative team-oriented individual who has the proven ability to build relationships with Internal Customers and Suppliers.
  • Ability to establish category management capabilities to help drive compliance, performance, reduce cost, and reduce risk to the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, quantify and effectively leverage data to support business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as organizational, time management and planning skills.
  • Experience using SAP Ariba solution a plus.
  • CPM/CPSM certification a plus.
