Job Summary:
A Strategic Portfolio Manager (SPM) aggregates, analyzes, and delivers key KPI and financial data trends at both the portfolio and account level. They focus primarily on analyzing performance metrics, personal and business credit worthiness, overall borrowing needs and the capacity of the borrower to stay compliant. A critical part is understanding the customers business behaviors, trends, and aligning to the company’s key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure against accepted tolerance of risk. When non-compliant, it will be the responsibility of the SPM to work with the Proactive Portfolio Managers to bring the borrower within acceptable risk tolerance or determine an exit strategy. Early identification is crucial to mitigating risk by preventing and reducing loan delinquency, ensuring maximum recovery at default, and reducing overall charge-off. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying potential growth opportunities to increase market share within our larger account portfolio as you see positive trends and behavior.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Kinetic Advantage policies, processes, and procedures, relative to assigned areas, and ensure adherence
- Apply experience and lessons-learned to create or modify work methods related to portfolio risk indicators and overall partner experience
- Build trust and develop relationships over the phone while effectively communicating and exchanging information with a wide diversity of individuals, both verbally and written
- Interact with delinquent dealers, as appropriate, and coordinate action plans to mitigate risk with your Field Partners and Field Leaders with effectiveness and efficiency
- Drive exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to ask probing questions, to deeply understand the severity and potential risk situations within various scenarios
- Work very closely with other departments including Lending, Collateral Audits, and Remarketing, to achieve portfolio management goals
- Evaluate reactive and proactive dealer performance metrics to ensure compliance with our policies, procedures, and advance guidelines
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three (3) years in automotive, collections, or financial services industry required
- Familiarity with concepts, procedures, and processes typically used in automotive and financial services industries, particularly in delinquent account collections
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand basic financial statements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, specifically Excel
- Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful environment
- Ability to effectively develop and maintain strong business relationships
- Strong written communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, work efficiently, and prioritize
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- Ability to operate computer and office equipment, maintain paper files, and move about an office environment
- Must be able to move objects up to 20 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will, at times, be subject to outside environmental conditions
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
