Job description
Our team focuses on bidding on behalf of the advertisers in all ad auctions run by Microsoft Advertising. We aim to achieve the advertiser's goals given their budget through algorithm development, system design and implementation, and optimization and analysis. Our engineers and scientists work together and utilize all sorts of platforms, techniques, and approaches, including but not limited to machine learning, optimal control, mathematical modeling, and optimization. We build and develop both the online stack and offline workflows. At its core, our team utilizes signals of user and advertiser intent to bid in real-time or near-real-time, directly influencing their advertising performance. Our works directly impact billions of dollars in revenue annually.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled developer with a strong data mindset to develop, maintain and scale our system. They will play a key role in directly impacting the advertiser experience and continually increasing the long-term revenue for Bing Ads. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designing, implementing, and analyzing bidding algorithms.
- Designing, implementing, and deploying large-scale optimization pipelines.
- Building and maintaining pipelines that control all data flows within our system.
- Building internal and automation tools to monitor, diagnose and resolve systemic and corner-case issues.
- Optimizing the usage, storage, and analysis of petabytes of data to ensure a reliable, fast, and lean system.
- Developing and maintaining a robust end-to-end system that accommodates and orchestrates a variety of AI, ML, and Optimization components.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of backend development experience.
- Experience with general DevOps concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in CS/EE or related quantitative field.
- Experience with computational advertising
- Experience with MLOps concepts and tools
- Experience with data-centric systems is preferred.
