RxSight has commercialized the world’s first and only adjustable intraocular lens (IOL) that is customized after cataract surgery. This intraocular lens can be adjusted non-invasively while in the eye, allowing the post-cataract surgery patient to see clearly at distance without the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses. The application of light to the implanted Light Adjustable Lens (LAL™) will fine-tune the patient’s lens power to their specific visual need. This technology sets the stage for a series of lens products from RxSight that will have widespread application in cataract and refractive surgery as well as outside the field of medicine.


OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Sr. Manager of Software who can provide key leadership for the development and test of all RxSight software products including the light delivery device (LDD). In this role, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions. This is a versatile position that requires an active role in both management and individual contribution to the code base.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grow and develop a team of highly skilled software engineers
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of software products
  • Establish a roadmap and plans for fulfilling the RxSight pipeline
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including quality, regulatory, clinical, technical services, and production
  • Actively manage the day-to-day activities of the software team
  • Implementation of advance algorithms and models in software
  • Maintain documentation within the expectation of regulatory standards including (but not limited to)
  • Defining software requirements
  • Documenting software requirements, architecture and descriptions
  • Developing test plans and reports

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies, including the FDA
  • Familiar with medical device standards, including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366
  • Windows, Linux, and Embedded Operating Systems
  • Must be capable of understanding algorithms and models and implementing them in RxSight software products
  • Familiarity with Design Control and the Software Development Lifecycle

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Software or Electrical Engineering and more than 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of people management experience in building and leading a team of highly skilled engineers
  • Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system.
