Identify, prioritize, present, and monitor oil and gas recovery, development, and exploitation projects by actively participating in reservoir surveillance activities and supporting the resulting well actions- Support fast-paced drilling operations, including continued integration of new drilling information and identification of new/updated drilling locations, through use of conventional and unconventional reservoir engineering techniques and methodologies to inform and optimize field development and reservoir recovery
- Research field and well histories and perform DCA analysis on large well sets
- Lead the reserves documentation process in assigned field areas and provide justification and documentation for revisions to reserves and for new reserve bookings
- Mentor less experienced engineers and team members
- Integrate rate and pressure transient analysis, material balance, decline curve, volumetric analyses, and reservoir simulation into evaluation of conventional and unconventional reservoirs
- Work with integrated team to develop and optimize completion, stimulation, and lift design
- Evaluate economics and profitability of potential projects for the company by supporting business development efforts as needed
Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in engineering- Minimum 10 years of industry experience with at least 5 years of field development experience in unconventional reservoirs. Preferred: CBM/San Juan basin experience
- Expert in the application of advanced engineering workflows and software, including Aries, OpenWells, Harmony, DrillingInfo/Enverus, and PowerBI
- Significant experience in advanced DCA
- Significant experience in numerical reservoir simulation
- Thorough understanding of the key reservoir drivers that influence the production profile of unconventional resources. Preferred: Experience in one or more shale gas plays
- History of effectively identifying and mitigating challenges faced during the appraisal and development of unconventional resources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information
- Experience with RTA software and analysis of gas properties.
- Robust understanding of the petro-technical workflows carried out by geoscientists, drilling and completion engineers, and production engineers
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet project deadlines
- Independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented with the experience to drive a project to completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present to executive-level audience
