As a Senior UX Writer, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for consumers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Amazon is looking for a Senior UX Writer to join an exciting project team working to build a best-in-class product. This is a green-field opportunity where you will own and execute a UX content strategy, working with UX design, UX research, product, and marketing teams to implement.

The Senior UX Writer thinks strategically, operates methodically, and demonstrates extreme customer empathy with their writing. They are inspired by tackling new creative challenges, are a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity. The Senior UX Writer has strong attention to detail, and will define and create standards, patterns, and mechanisms to create net new copy that is crisp, clear, and customer-centric. They are obsessed with understanding how our customers think, and they fiercely advocate for the best possible user experience for them. They strive to ensure that customers have the right information, when they need it. They develop content frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, product narratives, and other deliverables that help gain cross-functional alignment. They also lead collaboration with curiosity to partner with internal teams to test, learn, and optimize creative performance.

Key job responsibilities
  • Help to define the practice of copywriting in our organization.
  • Work with Design to influence product strategy
  • Help develop brand expression through Voice & Tone guidelines and a Messaging Frameworks.
  • Maintain and evolve Design System content writing guidelines and patterns.
  • Collaborate with the product team to write, edit, and improve text for customers.
  • Analyze customer data to continuously improve the way in which we speak to customers.
  • Contribute to the professional development of colleagues across the UX team, improving their UX writing skills, knowledge, and best practices.

• Successful delivery of multi-channel content strategy • Obsession for driving a best-in-class experience for customers • Experience writing long-form content • Exceptional attention to detail • History of independently owning ambiguous projects • Experience working cross-functionally with a passion for collaboration • A history of creating simple and clear messaging related to complex technical products • Experience with medical writing, copywriting, digital content creation, information architecture, content marketing, and/or other content specialties. • Experience with Design Systems, Design Guidelines and/or UI Components documentation. • Experience with web standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
