PURPOSE OF POSITION

To oversee purchasing, receiving, storing, inventorying and dispensing of all utility materials within Corn Belt Energy warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, store, inventory and dispense all purchased materials including those in the warehouse, office and storage areas.
  • Monitor vendor pricing and manage material reorder points.
  • Set and maintain appropriate material inventory levels for the main warehouse and any other off-site locations.
  • Responsible for procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Regularly operate forklifts.
  • Deliver all specially purchased materials to the requestor.
  • Process all properly authorized stockroom requisitions quickly and efficiently to proper truck/field location.
  • Rotation of all inventories - FIFO methodology.
  • Maintain stockroom/warehouse in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Responsible and accountable for stockroom security.
  • Process reports of supplies received, returned materials and shipping notices accurately.
  • Full responsibility for all facets of yearly inventory.
    • Prepare all documents related to inventory cataloging.
    • Inventory capture, count, first count posting, comparison and final posting.
    • Conduct quarterly inventory cycle counting.
  • Accurately pull material and fill work orders for operations crews.
  • Interact and meet with material vendors, as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate stock related to single phase, distribution and pad mount transformers.
  • Record keeping, documentation, inspection, spill prevention and clean-up of any oil-filled equipment.
  • Monitor and dispose of unused material, i.e. wire reels, etc.
  • Monitor and order on-site fuel for fleet.
  • Perform or coordinate minor maintenance and upkeep on an as needed basis.
  • Routine inspection and maintenance of perimeter fencing, locks and outdoor lighting to minimize potential theft.
  • Assist with safety achievement program compliance and goals.
  • Notify manager concerning need for major repairs or additions to buildings or operating/warehousing systems and assist with coordination and oversight of project(s).
  • Oversee the daily work and function of the warehouse and communicate to Northern Region Manager regarding warehouse personnel, as applicable.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive data and information.
  • Maintain a high degree of financial awareness to efficiently manage the pricing of all inventories received.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Northern Region Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehousing operations or purchasing background.
  • Demonstrated competency in use of computer and software programs, i.e. MS Access, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge and competence in the operation of both gas powered and electric fork lift trucks.
  • Current valid CDL-A.
  • Knowledge of filing and demonstrated, competent use of the office equipment like computer, telephone, photocopier and radio.
  • Possess and maintain safe work habits in lifting, hauling and processing material.
  • Excellent communication skills on phone, radio, in-person and via written word.
  • Ability to learn all utility equipment, its function, and associated component parts.
  • Physical job requirements require ability to lift and load various pieces of equipment of different lengths and weights with and without lift assistance.

WORK CONDITIONS

Work will be performed inside and outside; with the outside work involving various weather conditions. Work performed frequently involves close and distance vision, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching combined with heavy lifting/moving of material weighing in excess of 100 pounds.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be willing and able to work extra and/or irregular hours as the needs of the job may require.
  • Must observe all safety rules and regulations adopted by CBEC.
  • Must attend schools and conferences as requested by the CBEC management.
  • Ability to become CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
