POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The set-up crew for the San Diego Loyal SC assists with all pre-game/pre-event set-up, post-game/post-event breakdown for all home games and special events as required. This may include preparatory work required to be completed during the week leading up to a home game.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow the instructions and direction for stadium/venue set-up and/or breakdown provided by the Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
- Build and prepare stadium/venue for all events, completing tasks that include, but are not limited to, stadium preparation and cleanliness, supply replenishment, and other labor-intensive tasks.
- Apply critical thinking when setting up and breaking down the stadium/venue to ensure that all events are conducted in a timely, efficient, professional, and safe manner.
- Assist all departments with set-up and break-down as required.
- Ensure that guests comply with SD Loyal’s policies and procedures, including those related to COVID-19 safety requirements.
- Assist Stadium Operations team to ensure best safety practices are used and implemented.
- Take initiative to identify areas requiring attention and provide recommended areas of improvement to the Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be proficient in Google and Microsoft applications to include but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Google Earth.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to physically work outdoors in inclement and/or hot weather.
- Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, including a “can-do” attitude.
- Must adhere to SD Loyal COVID-19 Protocols, which include wearing a mask at all times, when/where applicable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions throughout the duration of the work period. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, depending on the event as well as the location. Working hours typically take place during the early morning hours, and late evening ours.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or carry supplies; stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Close-toed shoes and athletic wear are required, as this position requires you to be persistently on your feet.
