Shelter Case Manager (Bilingual preferred)

As the Shelter Case Manager, you will work with families in shelter (congregate and scattered site) to help them obtain safe, permanent housing and develop the skills to remain housed. Your role will also include assessing each family’s strengths and needs and supporting them in achieving well-being and housing stability. As Case Manager, you will employ a strength-based and person-centered approach to working with families and will collaborate closely with Housing Advocates to help achieve family and departmental goals.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED
Successful candidates will be required to have:
- Written and verbal fluency in the English language
- Ability to speak/write in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole
- Valid driver's license and registered and insured reliable vehicle
- Full vaccination against Covid-19
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Experience working with homeless families or in a residential setting
- Experience entering data into ETO or Apricot
- Bachelor’s Degree in human service or a related field
We are looking for a candidate with excellent self and cultural awareness who can convey empathy. Essential to this role will be the ability to:
- Work well with others, including a diverse team and people experiencing homelessness
- Communicate effectively and be open-minded
- Problem-solve and be resourceful
- Organize and manage details
- Be flexible with scheduling
