JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs all tasks in manner, which constantly meets or exceeds Standard Performance Levels.
Adheres to all TBDN Tennessee Company policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates/supports the companies 5s program.
Print picking list form for scheduled orders for all customer-including international customers, overseas shipments, service parts, etc.Manages /enters bills of lading.
Contacts customers to arrange for shipment times / dates.Manages the returnable / reusable packaging.
Manages / generates all necessary paperwork for shipments- some are unique to a customer.
Track shipments till received by customer- notify customer of any problems or issues.
Checks in trucks and insures Material Handler are available to load shipments.
Works with supervisor and shipping / receiving manager to insure trucks are loaded promptly and accurately.
Tracks and reports shipment results.
Provides training, leadership and guidance to new/less experienced logistic clerk.
Maintains the shipping office area in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
Maintains the proper documentation and record keeping.
Willingly performs any other duties that may be requested or assigned.
Input of all ASN”S (advance shipping notifications).
Give instructions/job assignments to material handlers.
E-mail shortage notices to the correct internal departments.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have a thorough knowledge of the company’s shipping procedures. Must be able to read and interpret job sheets. Must be able to plan and coordinate the shipping procedures according to schedules. Requires the ability to complete shipping records/reports and maintain specified files of shipments. Must be skilled in the use and operation of all department equipment (weigh scales and printers). Must have communication skills. Must have basic knowledge of computer data input procedures and specified computer applications. Well versed in frequently used terminology.
Able to follow all pertinent regulations, standards, and safety & environmental procedures.
EXPERIENCE & JOB TRAINING:
Minimum of 1-year experience in the area of Shipping/Receiving is desired. Three to six months work experience is required to become proficient in most phases of the job.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Interacts frequently with coworkers, production and other members of management within the company. Outside contacts are with suppliers, customers, transportation companies and drivers. The exchange of information and technical discussions requires tact, courtesy and professional decorum.
CONFIDENTIAL DATA :
Has access to shipping volumes and costs, which could be detrimental if disclosed.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:
A single error by the Logistics Clerk would potentially be difficult to detect and could result in a significant
Impact on customer relations.
ENVIRONMENT:
Works in both office and factory environment.
