Weyerhaeuser’s Aberdeen Timberlands operation based out of Aberdeen, WA, has an opening for a Shovel Logger. We are seeking individuals who desire to work safely in a market-focused logging environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and good work ethic.

This is a union position. The workforce is represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).
The pay is $ 34.58 per hour. Paid holidays, vacation, health and welfare, and 401k benefits are provided, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check are required.

Key Functions:

• Safely and competently operate a logging shovel to meet production standards in various settings, while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards
• Safely and competently operate the shovel on various slopes and soils while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards
• Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop
• Quickly respond and adjust to make daily adjustments to maximize logging system output as dictated by business needs (weather, labor, truck availability, etc.)
• Implement new operating software developments and maintain required record keeping

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Possess a sound understanding of the logging processes, including logging, processing, and loading
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment
• Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information, and treat all employees with respect and dignity
