Job Description: The Social Media Specialist shall provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of Public Affairs Office. The primary objective is to provide contractor services and deliverables through performance of a social media specialist for public affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the tactical and strategic development web site content management and of social media engagement on behalf of NAVFAC Pacific Command and in support of the Public Affairs organizations.
- Initiate, develop, and manage accurate and influential communication of NAVFAC Pacific Command strategic communication programs, policies, issues, and activities, for both internal and external populace.
- Advise leadership, staff, and tenant units in the use of web sites and social media.
- Apply an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of public affairs, including internal and external information, social media, strategic planning and community relations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certifications, License and Physical Requirements:
- One year of specialized experience which includes experience planning for and managing public affairs communications via official social media platforms. OR Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design.
- Experience as a Public Affairs Officer at any Department of Defense organization is desirable but not required.
- Skilled in Communications and Media
- Experience with Public Affairs Policies and Procedures is desirable but not required.
- Skilled in various current technology
