Currently operating a fleet of CRJ-200 regional jets as United Express, Air Wisconsin Airlines operates throughout the Eastern and Central United States. The Solutions Develop is a role that will be part of a development team that delivers business applications for various departments within Air Wisconsin Airlines ranging from Flight to Finance. The position provides an opportunity to work closely with Business Analysts to understand business processes and requirements in order to drive the design of technical solutions and ensure that software solutions meet business needs.

The duties will primarily involve full-stack development using Microsoft toolset with focus on Web based applications. The Solutions Developer will participate in all stages of SDLC (Planning, Designing, Development, Test/QA, and Implementation). Assignments may also include customization and integration with packaged applications.

To be successful in this role, you will need good technical knowledge, willingness to learn about Air Wisconsin Airlines business and desire to look for ways business could be improved through better application of technology.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop new software applications supporting different departments.
  • Support business analysts in requirement gatherings and demo sessions.
  • Write efficient, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and to distribute knowledge.
  • Direct and support testing and QA processes
  • Provide on-going support and administration of existing custom applications
  • Participate in on-call support for existing custom applications
  • Modify existing software application to fix error, improve functionality, performance, and security.
  • Create and update application documentation.
  • Work with BI development team in support of BI initiatives (for example assist with scripting for ETL processes, embedding of BI dashboards into custom applications, etc.)
  • Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and tools in order to improve development practices
  • Support your teammates by continuing to learn and grow.
  • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.

Education/Experience:

  • Two- or four-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or have equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • 1-5 years hands on application development through work experience and/or internship, minimum of 1 year with .NET
  • Demonstrate proficiency with programming techniques, algorithms, data structures, and object oriented programming and methodology.
  • Programming experience in C# (.NET Framework, .NET Core)
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Toolset, Visual Studio 2017-2019
  • Understanding of relational databases. Hands-on development experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript and one or more front end libraries (React, Angular, or jQuery)
  • Experience with defect tracking and source control systems (TFS, DevOps, GIT)
  • Understanding of API, Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Familiar with SharePoint platform.
  • Have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
