Ignite is seeking a Space Control Analyst to support space domain awareness and space superiority objectives of the United States of America. The individual should be reliable and professional while employing the utmost discretion and professionalism. This position will be located at Peterson Space Force Base.

Work Hours: Full Time

Duties:

  • Analysis of space intelligence and tracks from space systems in both near- and far-Earth orbits to enhance U.S. offensive and defensive space control capabilities
  • Provide assistance to the protection of critical satellite communication links to detect, characterize, geolocate and report sources of electromagnetic interference on US military and commercial satellites.
  • Deploy and employ defensive space control capabilities for theater combatant commanders.
  • Support to offensive counterspace and space situational awareness missions.
  • Execute multiplatform, tactical space warfighting domain characterization, recognition, and responsiveness.
  • Plan and conduct specialized communications support for a wide spectrum of Department of Defense, allied, civilian and national space systems to monitor, maintain and update the status of supported Satellite Control Network resources, providing configuration and readiness condition of controlled assets.
  • Facilitate operational-level command and control (C2) of space forces to achieve theater and global objectives.
  • Predictive analysis of when and where man-made objects will reenter the Earth’s atmosphere.
  • Perform on-orbit tracking, telemetry analysis, and mission data retrieval services.
  • Develop, execute, and enforce Space Access Tasking Orders (SpATO) and provide space safety analysis to conduct satellite operations.
  • Conducts advanced analysis, sensor optimization, conjunction assessment, human spaceflight support, reentry/break-up assessment, and launch analysis.
  • Provide actionable and time-sensitive intelligence for space domain operations including detection, characterization and targeting of adversary space capabilities.



Job Requirements:


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Previous Space Control experience in support of the US Space Force, US Air Force, or US Army
  • Previous Space Domain/Space Situational Awareness a plus

Required Skills:

  • Ability to predict when and where a decaying space object will re-enter the Earth's atmosphere;
  • Capability to chart the present position of space objects and plot their anticipated orbital paths;
  • Expertise in detecting new man-made objects in space;
  • Ability to produce a running catalogue of man-made space objects;

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in determining which country owns a re-entering space object;
  • Experience in preventing a returning space object, which to radar looks like a missile, from triggering a false alarm in missile-attack warning sensors;
  • An understanding of the processes involved in informing countries whether or not objects may interfere with satellites and International Space Station orbits;
  • Experience in providing data for future anti-satellite weapons systems.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Understanding of astrodynamics
  • Expertise in radar and/or space sensor integration
  • Current/Former membership in the Space Cadre elements of the DoD
  • Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with prioritizing actions and meeting multiple deadlines
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Operationally oriented mindset
  • Data entry skills

Salary Range: $180,000 to $210,000. Salary and compensation is directly tied to academic achievement, documented years of related experience, and demonstrated subject matter experience in the stated mission area(s) for this position.

Compensation:

  • Starting salary ranges from $175,000 to $200,000 depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and credentials.
