Job description
Landmark Preschool located in Bedford, NY is seeking energized and engaging part-time specialist teachers in subjects of music, art, or language. These teachers will develop and implement planned activities and lessons using the framework of the curriculum (incorporating monthly themes, holidays, etc). The teachers must be able to effectively teach students through a variety of methods and use positive encouragement to support the mission of the school and the curriculum.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement large and small group planned activities and lesson plans with differentiated instruction that support the children’s age-appropriate learning
- Consistently utilize appropriate language, interactions, and positive discipline and model positive behavior
- Supervise children appropriately, with the assistance of the classroom assistant and/or headteacher
- Maintain confidentiality of students and families
- Additional responsibilities, as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience
- 2 years of teaching experience
Additional Information:
- Reports to the classroom teacher with oversight by the Preschool Director
- Ten-month/academic year position
- Hours are one to two mornings a week - 2 ½ hour class plus 1 hour prep time
