West Hawaii Today, a daily newspaper located in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, is seeking a talented, energetic sports editor.

Our ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who can handle every aspect of sports coverage: reporting, editing and page design/pagination.

Requirements: at least two years of experience as a full-time sports reporter or editor at a daily newspaper (not including college newspapers); strong knowledge about sports; solid page-design and InDesign skills.

Journalism degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.

This is an in-office position which offers competitive wages and excellent benefits in a dynamic island environment.

The sports editor is a management position and primarily works afternoons/evenings. The sports editor also must be willing to fill in on the news desk when needed.

Applicant must be willing to relocate within four to six weeks after accepting an offer. Some relocation assistance may be available. Two-year commitment expected.
