Position Highlights:

• This is a working production position that plans, supervises and is responsible for each shift’s assigned workload; provides guidance to staff in decontamination and reprocessing of instruments, equipment and supplies;
• Ensures work completed in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Responsible for supervision of the daily operation to meet the needs of our customers.
• Provides direction to the department based on the plan outlined by manager in support of the mission of the center.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Experience with mentoring new staff and/or students
• Strong background in all areas of Central Supply
• Demonstrated skills in personnel management
• Familiarity with O.R. routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices

Responsibilities:

• Plans, supervises and coordinates the daily activities of each Shift and prepares work assignments
• Coordinates the requisitioning, receipt, storage and distribution of supplies, instruments and equipment
• Assists the manager with department expenses within budget
• Recruits, hires and supervises the SPD staff; assesses and conducts staff evaluations and annual reviews, coaches, and administers discipline

Credentials and Qualifications:

• Certification with 6 (six) years SPD/CS experience required, of which, a minimum of 2 (two) years of Lead and/or Supervisory experience in SPD/CS must be included.
• Minimum of 2 (two) years of case cart experience
• Experience with mentoring new staff and/or students
• Strong background in all areas of Central Supply
• Familiarity with O.R. routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices
• Must be certified through CBSPD or IAHCSMM as a Sterile Processing Technician upon hire and must maintain certification renewal according to that governing body.
• Central Service Leadership certification (CHL) through IAHCSMM must be received within two years of hire.
