Responsibilities

In this position you will need to complete various routine cleaning tasks in offices, laboratories, patient care areas, lobbies, public areas, hotel rooms, and set up of daily breakfast food service buffet.

Routine Cleaning:

Dust various surfaces such as desks, bookcases and window ledges.
Vacuum carpets.
Sweep and damp mop floors/ mop spills/pick up any waste
Empty, wipe down and reline trash receptacles.
Remove trash from offices, labs, corridors and lobby areas.
Wipe and/or wash walls.
Damp wipe outside of vents.
Wash drinking fountains.
Wash toilets and sinks with appropriate cleaner.
Wipe mirrors, dispensers and shelves.
Replenish various dispensers with paper supplies and soap.
Polish tables and other surfaces as needed.
Wash or damp wipe counter tops and cabinets.
Pick-up and transport soiled linen to the designated area.
Pick –up transport cardboard boxes for disposal

Patient Care Area:

Clean and disinfect IV poles.
Clean and disinfect examination tables.
Strip, disinfect and remake beds and cribs.
Defrost and wipe out refrigerators.
Clean and disinfect floors and miscellaneous surfaces such as lamps, counter tops and empty trash receptacles.
Refill paper and soap dispensers ad needed.
Wash sinks and toilets using appropriate cleansers.
Wipe mirrors, shelves and dispensers.
Wipe clean medical equipment.
Removal of Medical waste from patient room
Clean/remove canister containers
Remove /exchange sharp containers

Security and Safety:

Ensure that unoccupied Rooms etc. are secured after routine cleaning is complete.
Report suspicious individuals or circumstances to immediate Supervisor or front desk.
Turn in lost items such as purses, keys, backpacks, etc. to the Lost and Found or to immediate Supervisor.
Report burned out lights, plumbing problems, broken fixtures, etc. to immediate Supervisor or to the Office.

Miscellaneous:

Clean and wipe down all cleaning equipment at the close of the shift.
Move or remove tables, beds, cribs and boxes upon request.
Assist with arranging tables, chairs, etc. as needed.
Return carts and all equipment to the appropriate closet or storeroom at the close of the shift.
Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Follow departmental policies and procedures.
Observe all Medical Center policies and regarding smoking, displaying ID badge, conduct, etc.


Salary range: $24.32-$24.32 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • English skills sufficient to read work instructions and labels, complete forms and impart information in writing and converse in English to speak with guests, co-workers, and supervisor.
  • Physical ability to stand continuously for up to 8 hours and ability to work at a pace which conforms to minimum performance guidelines.
  • Physical ability to move, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs individually.
  • Must be able to cheerfully assist customers on request.
  • Variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
