Job summary
Wondery is seeking a Sr Manager of Content Operations to support our large and growing content team who is enthusiastic, efficient, and detail-oriented. This is a great opportunity to work for one of the leaders in the audio space, and build systems that help supercharge our growth as we expand and go global.

This full-time position will report to the Head of Production and work closely with each content vertical within Wondery. They will be responsible for initiating and completing projects that affect the entire content team and our catalog of Wondery Original shows, including our newly expanded international vertical. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have extensive production experience in audio, and will understand how to be a creative-friendly producer while helping Wondery productions become more efficient and well-supported. They will have a positive attitude that helps them thrive in an intellectually curious, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead all projects that span the entire Content org, e.g. meetings, systems, and special projects.
• Along with the Head of Production, be the main point of contact between other departments (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Digital, etc) and the Content team in terms of disseminating and giving information or implementing systems.
• Own all building, use, and implementation of approved tools, including organizational databases (e.g. Airtable), filing systems (e.g. Dropbox), and content organization (CMS or DAM). Continue to iterate and refine internal tools via inputs from cross-functional stakeholders and maintaining tool manuals.
• Listener experience obsessed: Ensure that each episode published by Wondery is complete and accurate.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of shared release calendars for all of Wondery.
• Oversee coordination between the US team and the international team, sharing operations resources and collecting local inputs.
• Mechanize and improve upon operational needs for Production and Sound (e.g. studio booking, hardware loaners, etc)
• Create and maintain content operational guides for internal and external partners.
• Inform and collaborate with other operations teams throughout the org to improve all Wondery systems.
• Own the onboarding process of all full time Wondery content personnel, from creating a robust Content-specific onboarding system to advising hiring managers on hiring tasks.
• Contribute data for business reviews as needed.
• Oversee implementation of accessibility-related projects, including transcripts, alt text, etc.
• Uphold our Content Policy by reviewing and responding to content escalations.
• Manage and execute catalog maintenance projects, such as bulk reviews and updates.

• Expert knowledge of Airtable automations, formulas, and workflows, and have the ability to create multi-base Airtable systems to support our operational needs.
• Ingrained in the podcast/audio community and able to detect changes in market rates for audio contractors.
• Experience reading legal agreements and understanding how they affect productions.
• Experienced manager who knows how to prioritize and delegate efficiently.
• Above average knowledge of Apple laptops and know how to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Creative-friendly while able to address production needs simultaneously.
• Collaborative and willingness to work with team members from all disciplines.
• Demonstrate bias for action with strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, and attention to detail.
