As the Sr. Sales Representative you will be in full command of a sales position having fully developed the skills to be successful. With a deep understanding of the how business works and combined with strategic thinking, you will add significant value to the customer’s business. This position will be responsible for leading sales initiatives within the assigned geographic territory of CA/AZ/NV/Guam for the turf and ornamental market (golf, landscape, professional lawn care, and agricultural markets). As a member of our professional sales team, you will build strong distributor/customer relationships and use your established industry contacts to generate sales and business opportunities with new, as well as existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Achieve or exceed sales goals as planned on Turf and Ornamental, and Ag product line accounts by maintaining the existing customer base.
  • Developing the sales territory by attracting new customers (end-users) and business opportunities.
  • Expert level technical knowledge and problem-solving experts to our golf and landscape customers regarding the most effective use and application of products as well as maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge on all aspects of all product lines.
  • Introduce new products to distributors and end-user customers.
  • Provide input to the Sales and Marketing groups on competitive activity and market conditions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive market environment and pressures, relative to the industry and local sales territory.
  • Development of advanced business plans that drive to territory achievement driving the region to goal.
  • Develops, deploys, and manages resources that drive results defined in business plans that in some cases are aligned with the associated key account plan.
  • Teaches and coaches peers within the framework of the region managers direction to drive to a high preforming accountable team in day-to-day activities.
  • Leads by example in territory by completing and fulfilling territory and customer plans at an advanced level in effort to show others the way as well as to use as a platform to coach up peers.
  • Expert in customer relationships by creating value with individual business skill that helps customers attain goals while driving PBI growth.
  • Has the ability to plan 1-2 years ahead to get customers ready for future business and remove potential hurdles.
  • Is known in the industry with solid values and creditability.
  • Show planning and discipline with OPEX budgets while bringing creativity into achieving above average ROI decisions.
  • Skilled in building customer to customer relationships by possessing the ability to ask deeper questions that lead to opportunities that are then incorporated into business plans to be executed against.
  • Active on market teams representing the entire region.
  • Expert level ability to build rapport with customers and interactions are above standard.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in turf management, business or agriculture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in sales roles related to, golf, professional lawn care, horticulture, or landscape industries.
  • Knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and products associated with marketplace
  • Highly developed customer service skills with a proven ability to develop strong client relationships
  • Motivated, self-starter with results and solution orientation and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize daily, weekly, and monthly territory travel and focus
  • Working knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook
  • Travel required in this position: more than 50%
  • Must reside within territory.
