JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or related field.
  • Must have at least two "Category A" certifications or one "Category A" and one "Category B" certifications from the lists below (or similar level certifications will be considered):

Category A

  • VMware Certified Professional 6 or 7 (VCP 6 or 7)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • ISC(2) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional

Category B

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • ISC(2) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  • CompTIA Security+ (Sec+)
  • EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate
  • AWS SysOps Administration Associate
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting various technology environments.
  • A deep knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Services, networking, virtualization cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS), information system security and storage technologies is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training.
  • Encompass the three virtues of the Ideal Team Player (Humble, Hungry & People Smart).

JOB SUMMARY:

To administer I.T. infrastructure in a manner to provide affordable, reliable, safe electricity and outstanding member service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Systems Supervisor and within the limits of established policies, assumes responsibility for the personal performance of the following activities:


  • Supports (e.g., builds, deploys, hardens, troubleshoots) Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 and RHEL infrastructure in a highly-virtualized VMware environment with focus on: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file system permissions/sharing.
  • Administers or responsible for the administration of core IT systems and services, including email, AAA, anti-virus, privileged access management, multifactor authentication, email filter, patching, and updates.
  • Supports and interfaces with employees, vendors and contractors for troubleshooting, problem resolution, service improvement, service design, installation, and projects regarding all software and hardware related to server and storage infrastructure.
  • Provides hardware and software technical guidance to System Administrators and other technical staff as needed.
  • Designs, implements, manages, and monitors server and storage infrastructure. Ensures that server and storage infrastructure has adequate capacity, reliability, and availability.
  • Researches, recommends, and implements innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for server and system administration tasks.
  • Keeps abreast of current developments in server, storage, virtualization, and other technologies to assist Systems Supervisor with improvement of IT Systems.
  • Monitors and maintains firmware levels on server and storage components across the enterprise to improve system security, availability, and reliability.
  • Responsible for system backup infrastructure (e.g., Veeam).
  • Assists with preparation of budgets for server and storage infrastructure improvements, support contracts, and hardware and software licensing.
  • Documents system designs and architectures using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Smartsheet, and Excel.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities to keep up with the rapid changes in technology; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Periodically works evenings/weekends to support upgrades and system maintenance activities.
  • Participates in on-call rotation, providing support for all IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Maintains minimum required professional certifications.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Systems Supervisor.
