Job description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including accounts payable and receivable, processing tax returns, reconciliations, and assisting in month end and year end closings.
Accounts Payable
- Efficiently process all company invoices.
- Accurately complete monthly job draws.
- Reconcile all credit card statements.
- Reconcile all vendor account statements.
- Investigate and ensure the correction of all balancing discrepancies for vendor accounts.
- Create lien waivers for all job payments. Accurately track lien waiver receipts.
Accounts Receivable
- Process accounts receivables and incoming payments.
- Prepare bills receivable, invoices, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify discrepancies and resolve client’s billing issues.
- Work with the property manager to complete move out documentation and security deposit returns.
General Accounting
- Accurately track loans and initiate monthly payments.
- Assist in compiling job cost reports.
- Manage the purchase order process.
- Manage all insurance policies.
- Complete monthly and quarterly sales tax submissions.
- Perform month end closing duties to include preparation of financial statements.
Qualifications
The Staff Accountant should have the following qualifications:
· Excellent client and internal communication skills.
· Excellent verbal and written skills.
· Solid organization skills.
· Ability to multi-task.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.
Required Experience and Training
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field.
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Accounting experience.
· Equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
