Staff Accountant

Responsible for supporting all accounting and financial related activities. These include AP/AR, fixed assets, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. This position will work as a team with the Finance Manager to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial and management reports for facilities.

Duties / Responsibilities:

· Supports Finance Manager with month-end close and reporting process, preparing journal entries and reviewing the information provided from facilities

· Review and analyze monthly financials against budget, prior year, and trend to ensure accurate results

· Reconcile balance sheet accounts

· Shares responsibility of AP processing – monitoring/directing incoming invoices and assisting locations with POs, vendors, etc.

· Review A/P invoices to ensure proper allocation of expenses and appropriate payments.

· Review A/R aging reports - assisting locations with cash applications and customer follow-up.

· Assist Finance Manager with annual budgets

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or actively persuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

· 1 - 2 years relevant accounting experience

· The applicant should be detail-oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy, and work well as a team

· Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices

· Proficient with Microsoft Office

· Experience with JDEdwards preferred, but not required

· Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change.
