Staff Accountant

Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team. Responsibilities encompass assisting the Controller with month-end processes, reconciliation of GL accounts and general accounting responsibilities. Other duties include overseeing Accounts Payable processing, serving as backup for Payroll and assistance with developing monthly financial reporting and manufacturing cost analysis. This position will report directly to the Controller and is visible to the CFO. Taking initiative and ownership over job responsibilities and applying problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes will be key to success in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage Accounts Payable process and ensure timely payment to vendors.

· Process and oversee weekly check runs, including ad hoc check requests.

· Research and resolve inquiries concerning accounts payable.

· Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, support monthly closing process.

· Identify process improvement opportunities, drive projects to completion.

· Support Payroll, process bi-weekly payroll utilizing 3rd party, Paycom.

· Work with Controller and CFO to develop manufacturing cost analysis.

· Develop and provide ad-hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

· Analyze current procedures, recommend process improvement changes, and drive process improvement projects to completion.

Qualifications

· At least 3 years of experience in accounting, emphasis in Manufacturing

· Cost accounting experience and/or acumen is a must

· High degree of professionalism with the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

· Detail oriented, exhibiting strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

· Must be adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities

· Strong PC skills including proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of relevant software

Education

· BS/BA in Accounting/Finance
