POSITION DESCRIPTION

Payroll:

  • Provide payroll processing, analysis, and distribution support for the company. Administration of payroll requires accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the ADP payroll system.
  • Work with third parties to manage, maintain, update, and operate company payroll and data base systems.
  • Respond and resolve any inquiries regarding paychecks and provides information and answers to employee questions about payroll related matters.
  • Monitor the use of the electronic timekeeping system.
  • Occasionally prepare manual checks and supporting documentation. Interact with financial institutions for transfer of funds and with our internal Finance department on internal general ledger and balancing entries as related to payroll. Prepare special payroll for quarterly and annual bonuses. Prepare payroll journal entries.
  • Payroll related administration which includes transmission of 401k contributions and billing reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements.
  • Coordinates with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.

Accounts Payable:

  • Receive, review and match purchase orders with invoices. Assign due dates, and review account numbers for all invoices. Verify quantities and prices, obtain authorization from managers and code for application to proper general ledger account if not purchased through the requisition process. Maintain related files such as paid payables and open payables.
  • Select, print, review, process and prepare for distribution all accounts payable checks and payments. Includes the responsibility for matching invoice amounts and vendor or account numbers with payments to be made. Maintain closed files on a timely basis.
  • Maintain computerized accounts payable system by entering activity. Includes the preparation and distribution of detailed reports of activity and status of payables.
  • Work with both internal and external customers to provide training and guidance on Company policies.

General Duties:

  • Support the finance department with general accounting functions, reclassifications, balance sheet account reconciliations such as cash account, various asset, and liability accounts. Maintain knowledge of month-end closing and journal entry processing.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing monthly financial metrics.
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis, and data management as required.
  • Support annual audits.
  • Work with personnel from the purchasing and sales areas to support Purchasing administrative activities.
  • Position requires the incumbent to have a mature approach to business, the ability to present the company professionally to outside callers, and the ability to work on a wide variety of tasks at a consistently high level of accuracy despite frequent and constant interruptions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: BA or Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 3 or more years of related work experience in a similar position, experience with ADP is strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,734.00 - $78,208.00 per year
