Duties and responsibilities:

  • Structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, and timber structures
  • Finite element static and dynamic structural modeling of bridge and marine structures
  • Assist Senior and Mid-grade Engineers with the preparation of design concepts, detailed design, specifications, drawings, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Prepare design calculations and check calculations
  • Assists in coordination of plan details with engineers and drafting technicians
  • Participate in inspection and rehabilitation of bridge/transportation and waterfront structures
  • Develops plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed
  • Helps resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculates quantity estimates
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis required
  • EIT registration; strongly preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with structural design and analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD/ L-Pile, Cwalsht, etc.
  • Working knowledge using MATLAB and MathCAD
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Due to client requirements, selected candidate must consent to and a pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
