**SIGN-ON BONUS**

Alaris Health at The Chateau – North & South Paviliom, a 251 bed-skilled nursing Center in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, seeks a charge nurse to ensure that a consistently high quality level of care is delivered throughout the nursing Center. Additional responsibilities include:

• collaborating and communicating with the nursing supervisor daily to exchange information regarding resident care, resident condition and all matters affecting resident well-being
• overseeing and completing morning and nightly rounds to assess residents’ conditions, giving special attention to critically ill residents
• ensuring that each resident’s individual nursing care plan is followed
• orienting, training and refreshing staff’s skills in a positive environment that is conducive to learning
• admitting, transferring and discharging all residents according to policy
• overseeing residents’ medications, performing treatments and dispensing medications and ensuring that residents are receiving specially ordered diets

• reporting any problems and incidents as soon as possible
• arranging for residents’ hospitalization when ordered by the physician and notifying residents’ relatives of hospitalizations
• assisting with implementing the Center’s quality improvement program
• maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with the Center’s guidelines and policies
• and above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing
• Currently a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in the state of New Jersey
• Current physical assessment skills and comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles
• Recent experience in geriatric or rehabilitative nursing and experience in supervisory capacity are preferred
• Possess thorough knowledge of nursing theory, technique and practices, specialized procedures applied and equipment used, dietetic, sanitation and personal hygiene and medications
• Skilled in handling and manipulating instruments and equipment
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions of a technical nature
• Able to train subordinates in work procedures and organize and direct training
• Ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public
