Sourcing Associate: No previous sourcing experience required! We will train you in the world of sourcing industrial parts if you have the drive, ability to communicate effectively, desire to learn, and work as a team player.
Essential Responsibilities: As a member of the Sourcing Team, you will join a group of industry experts to train and develop skills in global supply chain and product sourcing. Daily activity will be rapid pace, exciting and unpredictable as you work to align customer product needs with the best potential manufacturers with regards to cost, delivery, and quality.

• Work within the standards and processes of the Sourcing Team
• Communicate with suppliers to source products with emphasis on quality, reliability, terms, price and delivery
• Support Sourcing Director in day-to-day tasks
• Develop and communicate with new suppliers to find the highest quality, lowest total cost components
• Align Thruway’s wants and needs with those of the customer
• Have an ability to learn components vital to Thruway and possess interest in general technical & mechanical competencies
• Interface with a multi-site team of Thruway GM’s, Sales, Quality and Customer Service & Support Teams
• Keeps information accessible and organized by sorting and filing documents.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent reading, typing and verbal communication and comprehension skills
• Be a team player that is willing to help others as needed
• Motivation to succeed in a multi-tasked fast-paced environment
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Excellent Organizational and Time Management Skills
• Technical aptitude or background not required, but preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Sitting 90% of time and standing/movement 10% of the time
• Occasional travel to other branch locations and suppliers
