Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full Time- Systems Administrator 1 to work in one of our IEM offices in Louisiana or North Carolina and deliver exceptional service to IEMers.


Primary Location:

  • Candidate must live a commutable distance to Morrisville, NC or Baton Rouge, LA.
  • Position will be a Remote and In Office role making it a Hybrid work schedule .
  • In office days will be based on business needs and could range between 1 – 5 days a week
  • All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasionally up to 10% of the time

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, and other applications.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, administration, account management, and resolution of software and hardware issues.
  • Manage all aspects of disaster recovery practices for all environments.
  • Manage server patching process from start to finish. This will require after-hours support.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills needed for interactions with external customers as needed.
  • Positive and proactive approach in identifying problems, creating innovative solutions and managing projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the physical constraints of the job.
Required Skills:

2 - 3 years is required in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Windows Server administration
  • Microsoft 365 suite administration
  • Microsoft ADFS
  • Microsoft Active Directory administration experience
  • Microsoft server patching.
  • Disaster recovery planning and execution quarterly.
  • Extensive Email Security
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaborate within the IT Services team.
  • A customer-oriented attitude and desire to help others on your team succeed.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills needed for interactions with external customers as needed.
  • Personal and professional integrity which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start.
  • Ability to interact effectively, cooperatively and tactfully with C-Suite, business/industry, and government contractor support.
  • Data Center knowledge and experience
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in a technology discipline required.
  • 2-3 years as a systems administrator
  • Industry certifications are required.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a US government security clearance.
