For a global leader in the technology field, this role will be part of a team responsible for generating synthetic data for training ML. A technical 3D Artist in this role will develop 3D content and tools that enable the generation of synthetic data using internal infrastructure and external 3D modeling platforms and tools such as USD, Blender and Cycles. This position will be working on-site in the Playa Vista, CA area.

Top Responsibilities (not limited to):
3D content development using Blender, scripting tools that update existing USD content, assemble scenes for rendering and producing ML training metadata.
Develop procedural generation of 3D content in USD and Blender.
Implement tools for processing real world captured data for use in synthetic pipelines.
Develop procedural scene assembly for synthetic data.
Develop pipeline for rendering synthetic data in USD / hdCycles
Develop 3D assets, scripts, and documentation.

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
Visual Art degree
Minimum 3+ years of experience in 3D content development technologies and tools (5-8 years preferred)
3D modeling using Blender (Houdini / Maya in addition is a plus)
USD 3D content processing using Python,
3D Rendering using Cycles, or Renderman.
Work in a multidisciplinary team with engineers and ML researchers
Knowledge of Google internal tools and infrastructure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in internal and external Stakeholder management and communication
Ability to meet and exceed client requirements while working independently and under minimal supervision
Able to work on-site in the Playa Vista, CA area

Hourly Rate and Other Compensation :
The hourly rate for this position is between $38.00 - $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
