We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software / Systems Engineering that will part of the Mission Services Organization (MSO) that is excited about evolving roles and lifecycle experience as a Flight Software Lead/System Integrator working content changes through the life of the program. The ideal candidate should take pride in doing work right the first time with a very fast paced schedule working with a dynamic team. The candidate needs to be an effective communicator and be comfortable with remote work and distributed teams.
As the Technical Lead of the Embedded/Flight Software group at Raytheon, you will be part of the Pasadena leadership team leading a team of flight software engineers to develop cutting edge software for several programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Flight software task orders including financials, schedule, and technical deliverables.
- Interface with customers to discuss technical progress and respond to new tasking.
- Recruit and hire new talent to support on-contract growth.
- Mentor and support the development of current team members.
- Support the flight software engineers on the team identify and troubleshoot technical issues with flight software in an integrated system.
- Thrive in a team composed of experienced flight software developers.
- Lead the team to provide flight software support and maintenance during flight operations.
- Help the team develop test plans, unit tests, and evaluate test results. Run tests against simulators and testbeds.
Desired Skills
- C or C++ programming skills
- Multi-threaded programming
- Experience in Risk and Operations Management; risk mitigation/capture plans
- Experience with the full and agile System Lifecycles
- Experience with basic project planning
- Excellent organizational skills and task planning
- Ability to work closely with other disciplines to troubleshoot and fix problems
Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is $106,500 to $223,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
