About This Role

As a technical writer, you will create compelling, clear, and accurate documentation describing how to use Determined AI’s cutting-edge, open-source machine learning platform. You should be comfortable working independently to develop a documentation plan, collaborating with engineering and product management to understand new features, and writing first-rate technical content. You will particularly focus on writing documentation for ML researchers and engineers at the cutting-edge of applying the latest machine learning techniques to challenging problems in fields like computer vision and natural language processing.

Success in this role requires superb written communication skills, experience writing content for highly technical products, and a passion for translating complex details into product documentation that is readable, accurate, and well-organized.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary documentation owner for the open source Determined project

  • Document new features and product offerings, working in collaboration with Determined AI’s engineering, community, and product management teams

  • Document best practices and common product configurations, working in collaboration with Determined AI’s support, field sales, and product management teams

  • Devise and maintain an organizational structure for our documentation that is intuitive, comprehensive, and discoverable, paying attention to the varying information needs of different end-user personae

What We’re Looking For

  • Superb written communication skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a technical writer, creating documentation for complex products used by software developers, data scientists, and/or IT administrators

  • Experience writing documentation for APIs

  • The ability to read and understand source code (Python preferred)

  • Strong understanding of information architecture in practice; specifically, the ability to devise and maintain a logical structure for product documentation

  • Experience using lightweight documentation formats like Markdown and reStructuredText, and related tools like Sphinx

  • (Preferred) Experience with the Divio Documentation System

  • (Preferred) Experience with the Docusaurus documentation platform

  • (Preferred) Experience creating technical diagrams

  • (Preferred) Familiarity with data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, natural language processing, data analytics, data management, statistics, distributed systems, cloud computing, or related topics

  • (Preferred) Experience working on open-source projects

Annual salary disclosure applies to these states:

Colorado

Annual Salary: $111,420.00 - $136,180.00
