Job description
General Purpose: The Terminal Manager has overall responsibility for assigned location(s) and is responsible for driving the safe and profitable execution of warehouse, inventory, truck dispatch, and harbor operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting business growth and ensuring customer service excellence across assigned teams.
Essential Functions:
- Drives a safety-first culture.
- Provides onsite leadership: coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback.
- Works cross functionally to ensure customers’ needs are met
- Develops, continuously improves, and maintains processes and work instructions aligned with Premier’s policies
- Schedules equipment/facility maintenance ensuring safe and timely operations
- Schedules and allocates resources to meet business requirements
- Monitors and ensures supplies are available to perform work
- Performs work within the scope of truck dispatch
- Supports and develops metrics to measure the effectiveness of terminal operations
- Monitors, changes course, and supports budget compliance and development
- Ensures a quality first approach to all work and customer interaction
- Support business development with new and existing customers
- Leads NCR investigation(s), identifying root cause and symptoms, and drives corrective and preventative measures
- Completes special projects/tasks as directed by management
Education, Training & Skills Required:
- 10-12 years in a transportation and/or warehouse role with increasing responsibility
- 5+ years in a direct dispatch role (specialized flatbed preferred)
- 5-8 years managing 3PL operations with direct P&L responsibility
- Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
- Ability to present and communicate directly with customers and vendors
- Incumbent must be able to support operations, when necessary, by performing all aspects of terminal operations
- Ability to travel between assigned locations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
