POSITION: The Director of Harm Reduction Services
PROGRAM: Sexual & Reproductive Health Services
HOURS: Fulltime, Monday through Friday, 1-2 evenings per week
SALARY: 75k-80k Annually
LOCATION: All sites

DUTIES: Under the direction of SRHS Director, the Director of Harm Reduction Services will manage the Bureau of Infectious Disease Laboratory Sciences (BIDLS) and Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) Overdose Education and Narcan Distribution (OEND), Overdose to Action (OD2A) off-site testing, and substance use services programs within the Sexual and Reproductive Health Services program.
The Director of Harm Reduction Services will:
- Provide supervision and guidance to Harm Reduction Specialists and oversite of the off-site testing program
- Development and implement integrated OEND services across all SRH sites
- Act as Master Trainer for OEND for internal and external OEND trainings
- Increase access to substance use prevention, HCV treatment, medication-assisted treatment for opioid misuse, harm reduction services, and SRHS through internal and external partnerships
- Increase access to community based Narcan through outreach, program development, and local partnerships
- Develop, update and maintain harm reduction program policies and procedures
- Provide harm reduction training including overdose education and NARCAN for clients, community partner agencies, and Health Imperatives staff
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize overdose prevention training data, naloxone usage data, and overdose reversal reports
- Serve as an in-house expert on harm reduction interventions, keeping up with the latest trends in substance use and related harm reduction needs.
- Manage harm reduction inventory and supply ordering.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma; 5+ years of experience providing harm reduction counseling, overdose education and Narcan distribution and 2+ years management of a BSAS funded harm reduction program; computer literacy essential. Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills in English and be sensitive to the needs of a culturally diverse population; prior experience working with low income and vulnerable populations; demonstrated ability to communicate unbiased health knowledge to clients (adolescents and adults of all genders) in an effective and culturally competent, non-judgmental manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with or knowledge of the populations served who are disproportionately impacted by HIV and/or substance use.
